I changed the locks and cleared his room out. The next day I went to the bank and sorted out the check that he had cashed, got the money back. I then phoned his parents house and told his brother what had happened and that the cops were looking for him and that he wasn’t welcome back here.
I realized later that it may have been him and not his brother I was talking to. His stuff is now out in the garage and he hasn’t been back since. I‘ll probably throw his stuff in the garbage in a few weeks time.
Sometimes taking lodgers isn’t worth the trouble.
