harmonicas

I expect I'm raising an issue that's already been explored on numerous occasions but I would appreciate members' advice. Apart from the cheap harps I muck around with at work, for example, my 'main' diatonic harps have been a Lee Oscar and a Hohner Special 20. The sound from these two was not bad - given my level of expertise - but both have disappointed me, which might sound like heresy to some harp players. Even with replacing reeds in the Lee Oscar, it still didn't last me that long. The Special 20, of which I had expected great things, failed me just recently, even though it was relatively new. I guess a lot of this can be put down to my play. Anyway, I have just 'splashed' out on a Hohner Meisterclass. I very much like the sound and feel of this and am hoping I get some reasonable time out of it. I know it all depends on how often you play and so on but I would, as I said, really appreciate other members' opinions and views on this subject. Like, for example, on Jon Gindick's great site, he speaks about the Hohner harmonicas offered for sale that are refined by someone called Bob Meecham, I think, and which cost around 100.00 American dollars. Anyone any experience of these? Sorry this is a tad long.
