I'd have to vote for Andy Bown of Status Quo(not on list). I've heard him play live and he's pretty good. Inspired to me to take it up. In fact his pic is my avatar.
hey evry1, new guy here!
well... i don't know many harp players but to answer this question, i would go with Stevie Wonder (and why is he not in the list???). i don't even play chromatics but i just love the way he plays em'
I was reading this poll and the one the preceded it for fun and I have to say that I have gotten more information on who to listen to in the past ten minutes than I have in six months beforehand!
I voted for Charlie McCoy becuase he was one of the few on the list that I knew and could relate to some of the music he plays. I have lately been trying to sharpen my skills as a backup/fills player and leave the soloing to better players, so the stuff he plays in country/bluegrass music is great inspiration.
Good to see that there are some passionate people on the forum!
Well, because Jagger and Tyler are elementary level harmonica players and not generally thought of as harmoncia players, but rather someone who accompanied himself on a song or 2...
Magic Dick and Delay (RIP) are certainly worthy of mention.

can I throw out a shout for Mel Melton of Mel Melton and the Wicked Mojo's! He is a great harp player, fantastic cook (cajun food), and co-wrote Congo Square by Sonny Landreth.
Didn't see Junior Wells on the list eighther.......I like all these players, at least the ones I've heard of. But , for me, Junior does it.....Mainly because he is the better song writer of the bunch and blows a mighty tasty harp....Maybe not the best in the world but certain one of the most soulfull players.......
And it's good to be back in the club. Good to see everybody!
