I played on a jam session the other nightand i sure had a great time. Got the chance to play along with 2 songs. I haven't got a;lot of experience on stage, but shure like to keep on doing it.

overall- make some eye contact with the crowd, and more importantly, the leader of the trio.
on the doors- the singer wanted to blow harp. you should either stop and give him room or play quietly in a groove for him to play over.

Well, the hair, glasses and shirt i probably wil not change...

but thanks for the tip on looking around. i shure found it hard to figure out when someone started and/or when i had to lay down.

oh- and maybe find a wailing note and hang out. sometimes for a bar or more!
