Speaking as a Beekeeper, bees wax has a higher melting point than parafin. Bees wax is around 130 degrees F. The best way I have found is to heat the comb with a hair dryer then put small chuncks of wax across the comb and melt the wax with the hair dryer. Bees wax can be melted and used endlessly. Speaking as an experianced carpenter, repeatedly swollen wood warps, twists, and tends to split.
