hiyas!

found this website tonight, thought it would be fun to chat with other harp players.

i started playing chord harmonica when i was 15, formed a trio called The Generation Gap with my dad and brother very shortly after that.

played for a lotta years, was pretty fortunate to play with some really good players.

you can see a bit of my work on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF0f1TFx-0Q

seems like its hard to find trio players these days. any out there? i'd REALLY love to find a lead player in the iowa area to honk with. a good bass player would almost be too much to dream of.

hope to meet some of you in the chat room!

Hello, Iowaplayer.

Welcome to the Harmonica Club.

I'll check the SPAH Member Roster to see if there are other Iowacian harmonica players in your area.

The list will be old. My last year as a SPAH member was 2008.

Best Regards

John Broecker

Hello, Iowaplayer.

This information is from the Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica (SPAH) newsletter, Harmonica Happenings, Fall 2008 issue.

HARMONICA CLUBS-IOWA, USA

None listed

IOWA HARMONICA PLAYERS-SPAH MEMBERS (2008)

Kim Abbott, Clinton, Iowa: Phone: 563-243-2263; E-mail: Wally@usa.net; Web: http://www.bluzharp.com

James E. Merritt, Des Moines, Iowa: 515-979-2349; jamesm_99@yahoo.com

Ronald B. Reiff, Council Bluffs, Iowa: 712-366-5796; bernardothethird@cox.net

Wesley Seaver, Fort Dodge, Iowa: 515-573-2365; wesros@frontiernet.net

Andrew Sherburne, Coralville, Iowa: 319-351-2000 ext. 161; asherburne@westmusic.com
(Andrew teaches 5th-8th graders to play the harmonica at West Music).

We hope that you'll find a few interested players from the above list. Probably none of them play bass harmonica, but they might play slide chromatic or diatonic harmonica.

Best regards

John Broecker
