Yes, you can take your time preparing the tab on notepad and then attach it to a forum post. I will set up another forum category specially for submitting songs to the Songs-to-Learn project. So all members will have to do when they have a song ready, is post a new topic. They can then post a link to their YouTube vid, they can attach a .txt file, and the .mid file if they have used a midi backing track.

Sounds like a good idea. :)

I'm with Dezzy, no plus sign, & I'm presuming a ' is a semi tone bend, (so '' would be a full tone, & ''' would be 3 semitones).
All, of course, for a diatonic - will it matter what key they are written for?

I'm mainly a chromatic player, (or at least, I'm attempting to play chromatics), which means any tab in that section won't work for chromatic - you would need to make it clear in your instructions.

Personally, I'm too new to playing to be able to help in any meaningful way, at my present level, but I do have some diatonics, so who knows. ;)

Hi JamesA, in the past,I have offered to post the Tabs to a few members in my form,but have not had much response.When I try to play a tune and I am not sure how the middle eight is played,I have the tune in my head,find the first note and put it down in tabs,and so on,but I put it down so that I can understand it.
I:E:- 6b. 3d. 7b. (8d) and so on. The first note would be six blow, three draw,seven blow,and 8draw with the Button in.These notes are for demonstration only and is not part of any tune.I do this for a friend in Australia,and then on Skype I listen to him playing my tabs that I have posted to him,and he is doing very very well.The same goes for my Harmonica Club.Eric33. If I send a tune in tab form as a photo,I need to have an E- mail address.

The most standard form I've come across, in books & online, is,

DIATONIC
Blow => 2
Draw => -2
Blow/Bend => 2'
Draw/Bend => -2'

CHROMATIC
Blow(slide out) => 2
Draw(slide out) => -2
Blow(slide in) => 2*
Draw(slide in) => -2*

This seems too complicated for me,it would drive me nuts,I really think my system is much easier.On my Tabs,I put a circle round the number to indicate the use of the Button,because that is what it reminds me of.I can’t do that with the keyboard because there is no circle.Eric.
